First Entertainer Blogger Award Nomination, Say What??

Welp. I guess you’ve heard that the rumors are true. I’ve won a Nobel Peace Prize…

Oh, wait. Ahem. Excuse me. I’ve apparently misspoken. That won’t come for another two weeks, at least! What I really meant to say is that I’ve won the “Entertainer Blogger Award”. There we go. Can’t slur our words, now, can we?

So, yes, the Entertainer Blogger Award. There’s just something about this award that makes it my favorite out of all the others. And the fact that one of my favorite bloggers nominated me for this? Well, that just instantly made it EVEN MORE fantabulous. You like my new word there? I made it myself.

To start this award off I want to give a HUGE thank you to the lovely writer of “Dear Lily June”. I 100% recommend this blog to my  readers and give it a big whopping Hannah Stamp of Approval. That wasn’t really a thing until now, but now that it IS a thing, you should be completely amazed that she got that honor. Just saying.

You can find her here at ( https://dearlilyjune.wordpress.com/ ) You will not be disappointed. It’s filled to the brim with raw and beautifully written letters to her daughter Lily June. She gives her wisdom and experience for anything that life will bring Lily June’s way.

Well, I guess it’s time to list the rules of the award!

  • Write a post including the award picture.
  • Nominate 12 other bloggers who are funny, inspiring, and most importantly ENTERTAINING.
  • Add these rules to the post.
  • Thank the person who nominated you and leave the link to their blog!
  • Also, answer the questions down below.

These are the questions I have been asked:

1.) Why did you start to blog in the first place?

In the wise words of my “About” page, I shall answer this question.

“…you might want to know, “Why did you create this blog, Hannah?”

and I’d have to say, “Oh, that’s EASY. I created this blog to solve world hunger and win the Nobel Peace Prize, all by next Tuesday!”

And if you don’t believe THAT little trinket of knowledge, I’ll give you a second answer: I created this blog as another outlet to express myself through my writing. While being an author is my ultimate goal for the future, I am perfectly content at the moment using this blog to expressing my thoughts and opinions. We’ll see what happens from there!

2.) What is your favorite book?

I like all kinds of books. Although, I’ve been super into political/detective thrillers lately. It’s an exciting genre to read (and WRITE) !

3.) What do you hate the most?

When people think they have to be perfect to be of any importance *cough* *cough* me when I was younger *cough*

So, yeah. Embrace those flaws, people.

flaws.jpg

4.) What is your favorite food item from the mall?

SOFT PRETZELS FROM AUNTIE ANNE’S.

I’m convinced they are the cure to 99.9% of life’s ailments.

Okay, okay, okay. They cure hunger. That is all.

5.) What is your favorite past time activity?

I’m a firm believer that even whenever you’re not doing anything, you can at least be doing something. What does this mean? If I’m ever watching some pointless video on the internet or a movie on Netflix I’m either crocheting or drawing, as well.

Another thing? Duhh. Writing! Writing is a passion of mine so you can always expect me to be writing something, in one way or another.

Now, here’s the REAL hard part. Nominating all you entertainers out there deserving of this award! I may not nominate all 12 that it says to nominate, but I definitely will nominate a few new blogs that I have come across that I’m really taking a liking to.

( https://ysobelluna.wordpress.com/ ) Her beautiful photography and writings concerning her travels inspire and ignite the wanderlust inside. I just recently found her blog no more than a month ago and I’m already sooo in love with it. So, Ysobel, you’ve gained another dedicated reader, my friend.

( https://dineandrhymeblog.com/ ) This is such a cute little blog! I just LOVE the idea behind it- it is truly unique and she executes this with such skill (and great poetry)!! So, if you like food and if you like poetry, go check this out. It’s worth it!

Those will be all my nominees for now..Hopefully, I didn’t forget anyone. I didn’t want to nominate people that I have nominated before for an award, so I need to go explore and find some more awesome blogs to follow that are worthy of awards!

Till next time!

Hannah

(My First) Sunshine Blogger Award

Ever heard of “cause and effect” ? Well, to catch you up to date- I’ve been going through a little of that lovely philosophy, as of lately. The cause? Junior year has come in full-swing. The effect? School is preventing much time for me to blog and read other people’s lovely pieces. I’m not very pleased that it’s taken this much time for me to write another piece, considering I set my hopes on writing posts much more frequently, but life gets busy, and that’s okay.

So, I figure the best thing I can do right now to let you know that I’m still on this big blue and green blob of a planet is by writing an acceptance to MY FIRST EVER Sunshine Blogger Award! I’m always so excited to get one of these awards, and this is not an exception. I mean, it takes me like two months to get around to writing these things, but, trust me…I’m excited when I get them!

First off, I want to give a special thanks to Alex (from: https://lordofthetrekkies.wordpress.com/ ) ! She gave some pretty fun and unique questions that I’ll have to answer later on.

Before I get further into the award, I’ll list the rules of the award, for those I decide to nominate

  1. Post the award on your blog
  2. Acknowledge the blogger that nominated you
  3. Answer 11 questions that have been assigned to you
  4. Nominate 11 deserving bloggers for the award
  5. Ask 11 questions to your nominees

The Sunshine Blogger Award is an award designated to those you feel bring sunshine into your life and the lives of others by blogging.

Now, without further ado, let’s get into these questions!

What is one book that changed the way you think?

I’d say that the book “Black like Me” by John Howard Griffin did a great job of really opening my eyes to the struggles of the black people living in the south in the 1950s and 60s, and what true progress we’ve made from that time. We never are really taught what big leaps and bounds we’ve made in modern society because history classes are very often just focusing on long ago past. This book did a great job of laying out before its readers the raw and extreme hardships that these everyday people were faced with in the deep South. I never knew it was still that bad back then until I took the time to read books such as these when older.

Do you believe in aliens? Why or why not?

Haha, no, I do not believe in aliens. I feel that if there were any extreme life on any other planet near us we would most likely know by now. We are barely able to find any traces of water these planets, so I highly doubt that aliens exist. Now, I could see maybe a few plants or things such as that, but not a full-fledged creature.

What is the worst ever book you’ve read?

Oh, gosh. So many. And a lot of them were mandatory readings assignments from school, growing up. One of them particularly was assigned in seventh or eighth grade named The Summer of My German Soldier about this twelve-year-old Jewish girl and this almost-romance with a Nazi German soldier that was grossly too old for her. His age was 18-22? Somewhere around there. This book also went on about her abusive relationship with her father. I was not very impressed and was thoroughly confused by the end.

What would be your dream career?

Ever since I was a kid I’ve dreamt of becoming a real author, so that is definitely a written- in-stone dream of mine that I would love to fulfill by the end of my life. I was tossing around the idea of being an adoption lawyer as a main career and doing writing on the side, but I just stopped and thought to myself- why would I want to do that full-time, when I could possibly follow in the path to writing full-time, something I love even more?

Writing is my thing, and I’m under the conviction that I should at least try to see if I could make it a full-time career. I would want a job on the side, as well, so I could support myself as I’m starting out. But, I believe all good things come to those who work for it.

Another thing I am hoping to do is, after high school, is travel writing. I think it would be a good way to grow and see the world. Traveling is something I’ve always wanted to do, seeing as I have grown up in a small town my whole life.

What is your opinion on house cats?

I feel the laziness is excessive. No wonder you’re a big ball of pudge, Fluffy!

Why did you start blogging?

I guess I just started as another outlet for my writing. It’s a good way to share a little of my passion with others!

If you could travel anywhere, real or fake, where would it be?

I think that I’d love to visit some of the best art galleries in Europe. I would love to take it all in, and admire the beauty. But somewhere specific? Probably Venice, Italy. For many reasons!

Are you allergic to something? If so, can you tell us what it is?

Not anything that I’m aware of, except for maybe POLLEN. I just know that when that pollen count is up, I’m a wreck.

Have you ever went on a trip outside the country? Where did you go?

I’ve never gone anywhere outside the country. Although, when I’m old enough I want to pursue travel writing, because traveling is another important factor for me.

What is the biggest book you own? Can you take a picture?

The absolute biggest book we own has to be this ANCIENT dusty old Bible that we’ve somehow gotten a hold of. It dates back to the 1890s and the thing is ginormous. I don’t think I’ve seen anything bigger than that!

What’s your favorite kind of coffee?

Two words. ICED. COFFEE. (But, more specifically, French Vanilla iced coffee).

Here are my eleven questions for the folks I nominate next:

What is your favorite work of art? It can be any art form: painting, written word, etc… Why do you think it has affected you so much?

What do you think is the most important thing in life?

What are three of your most recent favorite music albums? Who sang them?

Is there something you’re really looking forward to in the next year?

If you could change anything about yourself what would it be?

What is one thing you would never change about yourself even if you were given a million dollars?

If you would ever write a book, what would it be about?

If you could turn into a completely different person for a day, what would you want to be? (Example…pro soccer player, seamstress, etc…) Why?

What do you want to accomplish in your young life? Any new years resolutions you’d want to fulfill if you knew 100% that you’d do it?

Find a quote that describes you to a tee.

If you could recommend one book for me to read right now, what would it be? Why?

And PLEASE- I will not stress this enough- when you are done with these, do not forget to tell me you are done! No matter if you make it three months later or an hour later. I thoroughly enjoy seeing all you guys’ answers to stuff!

I guess it’s time  to nominate some of you for the award! I will do as many as I feel, because eleven new nominations are sometimes hard to come by. I’ll only choose those who I feel really bring sunshine to the blogging community, so if I nominate you, you should feel that much more special 😉

https://bayart.org/blog/    – I’ve found this blog a few months ago and I absolutely love her latest idea of submitting a random act of kindness per day, to take a step back to tell yourself “hey, you’re on the right track” and to encourage you to keep making a difference. Keep up the positivity!

https://prayersandpiazzas.com/   – Okay, this blog has got it all! If you are at all interested in history, travel, everyday observational posts: go follow this chick. She’s got GREAT content and her photography is kinda sorta AMAZING. Whenever I get the chance, I love to read of her most recent adventures. It’s the kind of blog I’d want my blog to evolve into when I’m older and get out into the world (a whole lot of travel, adventure, and insight). Keep up the great work! Thanks for bringing the sunshine 🙂

https://marymacandcheese.wordpress.com/   – I look around your blog and what I take from it is that you have such a positive air to yourself and your writing! I like how you incorporate a little of your personality into some posts. I am a big supporter of writers incorporating themselves into their writing and I think that you have the start to a great thing coming. Keep up the great work with culminating and adding your special touch to writing! You’re doing great!

https://jorobinblog.wordpress.com/   – I found this blog, I think, about a month ago and I really like the issues she brings up in her blog. She confronts common issues that crop up in life and she presents it in a way that shows good insight to how we can approach these things. Thanks for your great work, and continue to do what you’re doing!

https://infinitebelly.com/   – Okay, it doesn’t take much to understand why I’m nominating this blog for the Sunshine Blogger Award. The first time I went to the blog, I was astounded at the beautiful photography and the DELICIOUS LOOKING FOOD! I mean, it’s got everything, really. Great writing & amazing food. You can’t beat it. So, Infinite Belly, keep it up on this cool endeavor! There are many that appreciate your spectacular blog. I’m just one of them.

Alright, everyone. I’m going to leave it at that! I will try my hardest to find even more blogs to nominate the next time. Things have just been so hectic that I haven’t had time to explore more blogs than I already have.

Again, thanks so much for the nomination! I appreciate every one of you that take your time reading my posts and caring about my writing (something that makes my heart happy).

As always, have a lovely day, and I will try to post again very shortly.

Your trusty blogger signing out,

Hannah

Liebster Blogger Award #2 ???

GUYS!! My second Liebster Blogger Award?! Eyyy! I knew all this typing wasn’t for nothing 😉 But seriously, such an honor and all thanks to this awesome blogger (Lord of the Trekkies) – you can find her at  https://lordofthetrekkies.wordpress.com/

I received this nomination a month or two ago, but things have been kinda sorta CRAZY around here and I hadn’t gotten to this post until recently. So, sorry for the wait, but I wanted it to have my full attention. Better late than never, am I right?

I’ll start off with the rules of this lovely little award, which will especially be helpful to those I choose to nominate:

liebster-award-rules-i

Now, without further ado…let’s answer some questions!

1. If you could go back in time, where would you go?

Good question! When I was a kid I’d have to say “the Little House on the Prairie days”. But today, after a few more years of history classes, I think I’d pass on the offer and go for a time much more modern than prairie and much simpler than today, (AKA a time where you could easily avoid getting scalped, and a time you could leave your doors unlocked without a care in the world). So, naturally, the 1950s and 60s would be an interesting time to visit. Notice I said visit. 🙂 Although the 50s and 60s have a bit of an enchanting quality in some areas, it was indeed not a perfect time to live in. With severe segregation and discrimination of African Americans and women in the workforce. This is an important part that is very easy to overlook with society’s depiction of 1950s day and age. So, with that said! It’d be fun to visit for a day in a place like Mayberry, South Carolina. The Andy Griffeth Show is what is behind my loving the idea of its simplicity.

2. Why did you start blogging?

I was kind of inspired by a family friend that started blogging. I’d been writing since childhood, and this seemed like the most reasonable outlet to express myself through writing in this period of my life! I’d blogged before, but with WordPress it’s different. There is a real community of writers and readers that interact and give feedback to each other, which makes blogging sooooo much more fun! Before, it felt like I was talking into thin air.

3. Who, in your opinion, was the best actor ever? Why?

I have a few favorite actors. Audrey Hepburn, first and foremost. I loved her in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, “Roman Holiday”, and many other titles she has been in over the years. She was one of the few actors and famous individuals that continually held themselves to a particular standard of excellence, reflection, and class. She was much more than a pretty face, in fewer words.

4. What is your favorite animal?

Alrighty, ladies and gents. I’m going to put a “CLICHE” warning out there because it’s true. My favorite animal is a dog. I just cannot tell a lie. But my second favorite animal would have to be ducks/ducklings. There’s nothing cuter!

5. What is your earliest memory?

Whew! Alex, you’re coming up with some really good questions! This is definitely a toughie…I actually have a lot of memory of when I was little. Especially when I was two or three years old. One memory, in particular, was a special Christmas morning in 2002 or 2003. I was with my brother, my mom, and my dad, with Christmas presents under the beautifully ornamented tree. I had my absolute favorite plaid nightgown on and I recall that that was the morning I received my very own wooden doll house. It had its own furniture, had a little Barbie doll couple to live in this humble abode, it even had stairs from one floor to the next. (There were THREE floors!) I was practically in Barbie heaven.

6. Who is your favorite artist? (Music, books, art, etc…)

I have a lot of favorite artists, including authors, because writing is indeed an art form. Charles Dicken’s work in David Copperfield was impressive. Other than that? To Kill a Mockingbird was another wonderful classic that has important lessons inside. Those are my favorite classics, not including the novels that I read. And for art? I’d have to say Monet is an artist that I really like. “Waterlilies” is a beautiful piece of his. Although, I’m a huge fan of Vincent Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” as well. I’d have to say Starry Night is my favorite.

7. Favorite emoji?  I use the laughy face the absolute most, but I love the one with its tongue sticking out too hahaha

8. What’s your favorite meme?

roasted

Just because this is 100% accurate.

9. Is Kahn from Star Trek Into Darkness really evil? Why or why not?

Um, TOTALLY….because. Yeah, well, I actually have no clue.

10. DC or Marvel? Why or why not?

Marvel, because I’ve actually heard of Marvel before. Some of my friends watch it.

11. Best movie you’ve ever seen?

The last movie I saw was Center Stage: On Pointe. It’s a movie about a dancer: ballet AND modern dance is included. I thought it was a cute movie.

11 Facts about Myself?

I’d like to maintain some of my mystery, so maybe I’ll do eleven facts the next time around haha

The Liebster Blogger Award

leibster award

Eyyy! Guess who got nominated for the Liebster Blogger Award?!   …Well, actually, it’s this chick right here! Oh, I know-I’m psyched about it, too, what with it being the first blogger award I’ve received in the history of ever.

So I will start with a special thanks to @WillowUnspoken that nominated me for this award! Go check out her blog at https://willowunspoken.wordpress.com/ ! She has some great and insightful posts for you to reflect on.

So with that out of the way, buckle your seat belt, folks. Because I’m about to fill your brain with my completely awe-inspiring and wonder-filled answers. The questions WillowUnspoken gave me were tough, but great questions to choose for me.

I will also be nominating eleven other blogs for this Liebster Award. If I nominated you, here are the rules to your nomination:

liebster-award-rules-i.jpg

The Questions @WillowOutspoken Chose for Me:

  1. Are you an open person? Why or why not?  I mean, I think it depends on what we’re talking about. Yes, I am open to hearing and discussing other people’s worldviews and ideas. But at the same time, I know what I believe and what I stand for. If you are asking if I am open with others then I’d have to say not all the time. That is not something that came to me instantaneously at birth. It has been something I’ve learned and have grown into after gaining confidence in myself and in who I am. Although, I definitely think it is a good thing to be cautious about who you trust, to some extent. If you’re talking about being open to new adventures, then 100% yes. I’m ecstatic to get out and travel and do new things. I’ve developed this adventurous and spontaneous spirit as I grew older. (While of course, still maintaining my common sense and reason about me.)
  2. If you could go back in time to fix a mistake of yours, what would it be, when, and why? I’d say that there are many points in life that I wish I could go back and do something different, but all in all, I’ve ended up seeing how those situations had grown me as an individual. I think a lot of aspects of life (including our mistakes) prepare us for the real world. Because the real world is not always so peachy as we’d like it to be.
  3. How would you describe yourself in one single word? This one is tough. Well-rounded? I’m part of a family that cares about art and literature as well as sports and fun, and because of this, I’d say that’s given me a good outlook on life.
  4. Other than a parent or guardian, who would you trust with your life? Um, duh. Spiderman.
  5. If you could change one thing about this world, what would it be? I would change the way it treats children, animals, and the total well-being of others.
  6. What is your favorite activity? Soccer has always been something that I’ve had a deep passion for. It hurts a lot that I don’t get to play it anymore, but I try to keep up with games on TV and still love it the same. Other than soccer, another one of my favorite things that I get to do is play tennis. I’ve watched tennis with my dad since I was four or five (Roger Federer, you rock!) But it was only recently that I have started enjoying it more. Overall, I’d say my favorite activity in the world would be writing, for sure. I’ve been writing little snippets and stories since I was in first grade and it’ll always be a part of me.
  7. Do you want children, or have children?  Yeah, sure. I’d want kids; I love them! I think I would like to adopt, too, but before I do all that I want to go to college, travel, write, just live life for a while.
  8. When were you happiest last? The weekend, definitely!
  9. If any, what is a great memory that is also painful? I’d say any memory with my adopted brother is at least a little painful. We’ve gone through way too much with him, but everything played a part in leading us to my dear little niece and nephew. A huge lesson in adoption is learning that family is not always the person that gave birth to you. It is who is there for you through it all, and who will always be there because of choice, not because of blood. Love is so much stronger than many blood relations are. I think I’ll be speaking of that in a future blog post, by the way.
  10. Do you think of yourself as a hypocrite? Why or why not? I don’t. Although, for every single person on God’s green earth, the way people perceive us is not who we are all the time. It is human nature. One comment I have heard is, “I don’t think she has a mean bone in her body!” But I’ll bet you if you see Hannah in the morning of a particularly bad Monday then you may realize for yourself that no matter how put together someone looks from the outside looking in, we all have our faults and short-comings. Being a hypocrite is different than being real!
  11. Do you see yourself on a straight path in the next 10 years? I would hope so! I know that college and young adulthood is always a tough time for people, but I wish to stay true to myself and what I stand for in the process. I want to grow into adulthood with grace.

11 Completely Random Facts About Me:

  1. I’ve wanted to be an author since I was in first grade.
  2. I’m an ambivert ( “a person whose personality has a balance of extrovert and introvert features.” ) …Hahaha see? I told you I’m well-rounded! But this just basically means that I love people, but I get super drained in big group settings and with people I don’t know well.
  3. I want to become an Adoption Lawyer.
  4. I. Love. Music. and singing. I love singing, too.
  5. I’m 5,2″ or 5,3″. Let’s go with 5,3″
  6. I’ve found that David Copperfield is actually a really good book. Oh, the joys of having a father that was a former British lit teacher. You grow up around this stuff.
  7. French cappuccino. Need I say more?
  8. I’m 16 years old.
  9. At ages around 11-12, I wrote 100 pages of a book before I stopped. It’s hilarious to look back at the old things you’ve written when you were younger. It always involves a whole lot of cringing and laughter.
  10. I go to a school that my dad founded this year that’s mission is for kids in rough situations.
  11. I’ve been parasailing and yes. It is as awesome as it sounds.

https://justinqueso.wordpress.com/ This woman is hilarious! Plus, who DOESN’T want to follow a blog that goes around reviewing different restaurants with cheese?? Come, now! Let’s be honest.

https://echoesfromthehollow.wordpress.com/2016/02/15/if-then/  Go check out Echoes from the Hollow- a blog run by someone close to me! She has some very thought provoking posts of living with a mother with Alzheimers, plus a couple funny posts mixed in here and there. P.S. See, Mrs. Clark?? You really SHOULD blog more!

https://victorialouisewrites.wordpress.com/  I really like this girl’s post on running. It’s so true and her writing is AWESOME! I really hope she posts more because I am excited to see what she does in the future.

https://thehighheeledpapergirl.wordpress.com/  I just recently found this girl’s blog the other week, but already I love it! The idea to spur on inspiration and motivation to teens, and to push others to dream is very admirable, and I love the idea of doing the same. The way she does collabs intrigues me, as well, and I would love to start doing collabs with other bloggers, too. It seems like a real way to grow. So go look around her blog!

https://alexisdavidalexisdavid.wordpress.com/ Go check out this blog! The author of this blog all but breathes, sleeps, and eats French ! (It’s awesome). She writes in English, by the way, so don’t worry about that language barrier. This blog is relatable, funny, and always an enjoyable read!

https://overanalysingliterature.wordpress.com/ This girl’s blog is great, fun, and unique! She definitely isn’t afraid to be herself. If you are into books, book reviews, even if you aren’t you should go look around! She just seems like such a sweet soul!

https://noteablepad.wordpress.com/ Go look at this blog, too! I love her writing, her blog’s design is killer, and she seems like such a cool and interesting person!

Oops! Almost forgot!

Here is another writer I wanted to nominate, too! (I know I’m going over the limit, but I never said I wasn’t a rebel.)

https://thelearnify.wordpress.com/ Go check out this girl’s blog! I especially love her cute little post for Mother’s Day. You won’t regret looking around.

Now, those that I have nominated- go get busy with those Award posts of yours!

Remember to tell me when you’ve finished, in case I miss it!

Your dedicated (I must be to have written this much for one post) blogger signing out,
